Korean Skincare for Acne-Prone Skin: A Simple Routine

A manageable routine is easier to assess when your skin is prone to breakouts. Cosmetic shopping should support everyday care without claiming to diagnose or cure acne.
Use a simple foundation
Choose a gentle cleanser, a suitable moisturizer and daytime sun protection. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that moisturizer can still be useful for acne-prone skin and discusses oil-free or non-comedogenic options.
Read optional product directions
An exfoliating toner, spot product and retinoid-containing cosmetic may have very different directions. Avoid introducing several unfamiliar treatment-style steps at once or assuming that irritation means a product is working.
Check the exact formula
Marketing terms such as calming or pore care do not establish that a product is an acne medicine. Read full ingredients, intended use and the supplied label before adding it to your routine.
When to seek advice
